A&R member and union steward Jamie Findley is a Tax Corrections Examiner 2 at the Department of Revenue Services. With 36 years of state service, Jamie’s commitment to public service goes well beyond the realm of DRS.  Jamie is in the A&R Spotlight because of his recent 22 day deployment with the American Red Cross to the devastated island of Puerto Rico.

Update 10/16/17

Furlough Update: A while back we explained that the A&R furlough language had changed.  This was true, however, agencies weren't allowing this to occur because they had not been given the updated "guidance" from OLR; agencies were operating under the original "guidance" which only allowed for 3 specific furlough days (Nov 24, Dec. 26, Dec. 27).   The agencies have now received the revised guidance so we can end the conflicting stories.  The new language reads as such:

Negotiations Update

The ratification count was held Thursday, March 12th. Unfortunately, the majority of the bargaining unit rejected the Employer's offer.

We will be contacting you soon to let you know how we're going to proceed.

Open Letter To State Legislators

A few weeks ago the General Assembly passed a budget which in many respects was extremely hostile to State Employees.  The budget put before the Governor included provisions severely restricting future collective bargaining rights.  In essence, that budget represented a direct assault on the future of collective bargaining in Connecticut.
